Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering

FACULTY POSITIONS IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Nicosia, Nicosia, Cyprus invites applications for two faculty positions at the level of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor in the areas of Power Systems, Antennas/Microwaves/Optics, or a related field of Electrical Engineering. Senior academics are strongly encouraged to apply. The Department offers undergraduate programs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering and intends to establish a Master's program in Electrical & Computer Engineering.

Candidates should have an earned doctorate degree, demonstrated record of accomplishment in one of these areas and strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research. Administrative experience, teaching experience at Masters' level, supervision/completion of PhD students, and experience in curriculum development will be expected for higher ranks. The appointments will begin in the Fall semester of 2010.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required qualifications are rank-dependent and include some or all of the following:

" Ph.D in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field,

" Strong record of peer-reviewed publications,

" Evidence of effective teaching at least at Masters' level,

" Evidence of supervision/completion of PhD students,

" Experience in curriculum development, and

" Administrative experience.

BENEFITS

Salary depends on qualifications and experience. Successful applicants will be offered a remuneration and benefits package, including 13th Salary, COLA, Medical Insurance and Provident Fund.
