The Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering of the Technical University of Crete (TUC) invites applications for one (1) new tenured faculty position:

One (1) tenured faculty position at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor in the area of "Power Systems: Electrical Engines, Transmission and Distribution of Electric Energy, Electric Power Grids" under the Division of Electronics and Computer Architecture.

Application Deadline: Monday July 28, 2008

Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. in electrical engineering or a closely related field. Candidates are expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and research. The position is open to all European Union citizens.

The Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering of TUC offers BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees. The official language of instruction is Greek. Citizens of European Union countries must be able to demonstrate good command of the language.

Interested scientists may apply by mailing an application package to the departmental mailing address by the due date as indicated above. The application package should include:

1. Cover letter (indicating the desired rank)

2. Detailed CV (in Greek or English)

3. Certified copies of all titles and degrees (with official recognition by the Greek Government, if necessary)

4. A detailed research statement summarizing past accomplishments and future plans (in Greek or English)

5. Scientific publications

6. Certificate of EU citizenship

7. Health certificate

All items above must be submitted in print (only one copy). Items 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 must be submitted also in electronic format (PDF) on a CD-ROM. Candidates are encouraged to include additional items in their application packages, such as a list of citations (without self-citations). All additional items must be submitted in both print (one copy) and electronic (PDF file) format.

Items 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 must be submitted by the deadline, however items 6 and 7 can by submitted by the date of the electoral procedure.

Candidates, if elected, must have completed their military duties before they are appointed.
