TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITIONS

The Department of Engineering at the University of Nicosia, Nicosia, Cyprus invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor or Professor in the areas of Information Theory & Communications, Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI), Embedded & Real-Time Systems, Advanced Computer Architectures, or a related field of Electrical (Electronics) or Computer Engineering.

Candidates should have an earned doctorate degree (or be close to its completion), demonstrated record of accomplishment in at least one of these areas and strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research. Responsibilities may include teaching un dergraduate courses, developing new courses, applying for grants, carrying out research and publishing the results. The appointments will begin in the Spring Semester or the Fall semester of 2008.

The Department offers undergraduate programs in Electronics Engineering and Computer Engineering and intends to establish a Master's program in Electronics & Computer Engineering with two concentrations, one in Electromagnetics & Microwaves and one in Sig nal Processing & Communications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required qualifications include:

a.. Ph.D (or close to its completion) in Computer or Electronics or Electrical Engineering or a closely related field,

b.. Strong evidence of potential for scholarly research, and

c.. Evidence of effective teaching.

The following will be considered a plus.

a.. Graduate level teaching experience,

b.. Record of peer-reviewed publications, and

c.. Experience in working in diverse cultural settings.

BENEFITS

Salary depends on qualifications and experience. Successful applicants will be offered a remuneration and benefits package, including 13th Salary, COLA, Medical Insurance and Provident Fund.
