On behalf of the Software Division of the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department (CEID) at the University of Patras, Greece, we would like to bring to your attention that in the next few weeks, it is expected that selected daily newspapers in Greece will carry the announcement for one new faculty position in our Division. According to Greek law, the deadline for submission of cadidatures is 2 months after that announcement. The relevant annoucement has already appeared at the Government Register (http://www.et.gr/FEK, cf. FEK 99 for the original announcement and FEK 117 for related correction of an omission.)

This call for candidatures is a follow-up to an announcement for expression of interest in Software made during the academic year 2003-04 but started materializing only now.

The Software Division of CEID currently consists of 9 faculty members actively involved in research in areas ranging from programming fundamentals to computational science and high-performance computing.

The forthcoming position will be in Software Systems (Sistimata Logismikou) at the rank of Associate or Assistant professor. The Division is especially interested in the following areas: Databases, Netcentric Information Systems, Software Engineering, Systems Software, Compilers, Programming Languages and Programming Methodologies.

For more information there will soon be a more detailed announcement at the departmental site at http://www.ceid.upatras.gr/jobs-ceid/. In any case, please don't hesitate to contact us for more information regarding this new position and the Division.
