Novel biosensor for the direct detection of low molecular weight analytes

This multidisciplinary project involves the development of a novel biosensing device, biorecognition layer and immunoassay platform for detecting low molecular weight analytes of biotechnological significance. The project is in collaboration with industry and will be funded jointly by industry, the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) Organization and the Greek General Secretariat for Research & Technology. Successful applicants are expected to collaborate with research groups in the USA, Israel, Japan and UK.

Prospective candidates should have a PhD and experience in chemistry (ideally surface or polymer chemistry, nanoprinting), engineering (device fabrication, lithography, signal processing), biophysics, immunochemistry or any related subject.

Positions are available from September 2005. Researchers of all nationalities are eligible to apply. The working language in the group is English.
