POSTDOCTORAL POSITION

The Departments of Physics and Chemistry have an opening for a research position at the post-doctoral level in the field of computational biophysics. The position is sponsored by the Leventis Foundation grant "Regulation of Glycogen Metabolism and Oxidative Repair of DNA by Molecular Association: Insights from Simulations and Experiment."

The project will investigate the molecular recognition and regulation of Glycogen Phosphorylase (a target for type II diabetes), and molecular mechanisms of oxidative repair in DNA. The methods will include molecular dynamics and electron-transfer matrix element calculations (software CHARMM, GAUSSIAN98).

The duration of employment is one year with the possibility of extension to a further 6 months.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in a related field and should send a description of research experience, a C.V. and two letters of recommendation prior to December 5 2003 at 2:00 pm to
