UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA - TAMPA, FL USA

Byzantium. The Department of History invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Byzantine History. Ability to teach, or interest in developing, a course on Byzantine orthodoxy is preferred. The position includes membership in the University's Interdisciplinary Center for Hellenic Studies and candidacy for one of the Center's "Endowed Named Professorships" which confers annual research and development stipends. Appointment will begin in August 2004. Ph.D. in history or closely related field required by the time of the appointment. Teaching experience and publications preferred. Salary negotiable.
