PhD STUDENTSHIP IN TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Graduates with degrees in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics are invited to apply for a three-year PhD studentship in the optimisation of microstrip frequency selective structures (FSS) and antenna arrays which are widely used in microwave telecommunications. The aim of the project is to develop optimisation software in order to improve the FSS and antenna array performance. As part of the work, wavelets will be employed to improve the speed of computations. The validity of the developed software will be verified through measurements. A network of UNIX workstations and microwave measurement facilities up to 40GHz are available. The project will greatly benefit from an existing work in designing and fabricating FSS and antennas which is supported by UK institutions.

Your application should include:

A CV listing the results/grades of all higher education examinations and professional qualifications taken.

A brief description of any projects you have undertaken.
