Postdoctoral Vacancies at the Institute of Biology, NCSR "Demokritos", Athens, Greece

Three postdoctoral positions are available for research on (1) the molecular biology of insect oogenesis (2) the development of novel genetic methods for insect pest control, and (3) the development of transformed insect cell-based high throughput screening systems for identification of ligand mimetics (agonists and antagonists) for eukaryotic membrane-bound and nuclear receptors in plant extracts. Starting date for the first two positions is January 2000, while the third position is available immediately.

Applicants must have a recent Ph.D. from studies dealing with eukaryotic (preferably insect) developmental biology (for the first position), eukaryotic (preferably insect) developmental biology and/or insect virology (for the second position), eukaryotic intracellular signal transduction cascades or pharmacology (for the third position), and extensive experience with molecular biology approaches and recombinant DNA methodologies (for all positions).
