Safioleas" <safiol@seas.gwu.edu> AHI COLLEGE INTERNSHIP OFFERED IN WASHINGTON DC The American Hellenic Institute offers several internship positions during the year. Interns will have the opportunity to work in an historic building on 16th Street just a few blocks away from the White House in Washington, DC and to experience first hand the excitement and practical understanding for how foreign policy is developed in this country. It will be an experience that you will cherish and appreciate. In the past AHI interns have gone on to fine positions in the public and private sector. Interns will participate in a variety of activities such as monitor legislation and Congressional hearings, liaison with Congressional offices, conduct research on issues affecting U.S.-Greece-Cyprus relations for Congressional testimony and our handbook on United States Relations With Greece and Cyprus and writing memoranda, press releases and letters. The work will also include routine office chores. During the summer the interns are expected to work 35 hours per week. The internship is unpaid and no compensation is offered. All foreign students must have a current student visa and/or current work permit. Qualified applicants must have completed coursework or experience in U.S. relations with Greece and Cyprus, excellent oral and written communication skills and knowledge of word processing-MS Word for Windows.
