APPLIED ANALYSIS RESEARCH POSITION IN PATRAS

The Division of Applied Analysis at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Patras, Greece, is seeking a greek speaking scientist for a 3-year research position under a program funded jointly by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology (GSRT) and the European Union.

The candidates for this position should

• have an expertise in one or more of the fields of Applied Analysis,
• have at least two years of postdoctoral experience,
• reside outside Greece at the time of the application
• be able to speak Greek.

The salary will be roughly equal to that of the Assistant Professor. The selected person will have to conduct research in the Division of Applied Analysis, supervise a graduate student whose support will also be available by the same program, and more generally be involved in the seminars and graduate courses teaching in the Department of Mathematics.

The Division of Applied Analysis will have to submit a proposal to the GRST that *includes the candidate's name* by November 28, 1997 so all candidates should submit their applications to our Division by November 16, 1997 to ensure enough time for examining the applications by our faculty members.
