Regards George UNIVERSITY OF CYPRUS DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE ANNOUNCEMENT OF ACADEMIC POSITIONS The Department of Computer Science of the University of Cyprus announces 3 academic posts at any rank for the following areas: Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Database Systems, Computer Graphics, Data Communication Networks, Programming Languages, Computer Architecture. The Department is also accepting applications for visiting positions in the same areas. The ranks of academic staff are as listed below. For all academic ranks, a Ph.D from a recognized University is required. The languages of instruction are Greek or Turkish. Applicants need not be citizens of the Republic of Cyprus. The annual salaries for these positions (including the 13th salary) are: Professor (Scale A15-A16) 22.561 - 29.327 Associate Professor (Scale A14-A15) 19.900 - 27.128 Assistant Professor (Scale A13-A14) 18.565 - 25.042 Lecturer (Scale A12-A13) 15.678 - 22.963 (At present CY1 = 1.3411 sterling and CY1 = 2.1324 dollars). In addition the Council may approve an annual bonus of up to CY5.000 for persons appointed as Professors and up to CY3.000 for persons appointed as Associate Professors. Interested individuals must submit the following items by Tuesday 9th of May, 1995. I. A letter stating the department and academic rank or ranks for which the applicant is interested in and the date when he/she may be able to assume duties in the event of selection. II. A Curriculum Vitae. III. A list of publications. IV. A brief summary (not exceeding three pages) of the applicant's research work as well as a description of plans for future research. V. Copies of representative publications. In addition, the applicants must ask three academic referees to send letters of recommendation directly to the University; the names and addresses of these referees must be submitted with the application. Additional confidential information may be sought. The Curriculum Vitae and the brief summary of the research work should be written in Greek or Turkish and in one international language, preferably English.
