Cordially invites you to two lectures by:

Professor Euthimios Soulogiannis Director of Research at the Academy of Athens, Historian of the Greek-Egyptians, Researcher of the Greeks Abroad, University Lecturer, Author of books and papers of cultural and historical interest.

1st lecture: Saturday, April 12, 2003 7:00 PM

The Hellenes in Egypt: Their past, present and future. This lecture will focus on the history and achievements of the Greeks in Alexandria and Cairo and assess their future prospects. The speaker will use visual slides for his presentation.

2nd lecture: Tuesday, April 15, 2003 7:30 PM

The Library of Alexandria

Mr. Soulogiannis, a native of Alexandria and currently residing in Athens, served as advisor of the Greek delegation to the Bibliotheca Alexandria. He studied extensively its history, function and contribution and will present the fascinating story of the library, past and present, from an insider's and a researcher's point of view.

Mr Soulogiannis was invited from Greece by Prometheas specifically for these lectures. Both lectures will be in Greek with brief summaries in English and the speaker will respond to questions in both Greek and English.

The lectures will be held at:

St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Founders Hall

Reception will follow both lectures. As always, there will be the Greek Books Table with interesting publications. You are encouraged to bring and exhibit your own books.
