Greece, which is expected to join the common European currency soon, has attracted the attention of Canadian and other observers for its expanding business potential. Dr. Kartakoullis is Director of the Cyprus National Olympic Committee, the Cyprus Commonwealth Games Association, and the Cyprus Institute of Sport Sciences. For the last two years he is serving as an International Programme Director for Sport Management Development of Olympic Solidarity of the International Olympic Committee. Currently visiting Canada, the speaker is involved in a major project to bring Greek and Turkish youth of Cyprus together in building a better and safer future for the island. He is renowned as an advocate of Olympic ideals in promoting understanding, friendship, and solidarity between peoples and nations. The sponsoring organization is a network of Greek-Canadian business people and professionals in the capital region. The event includes cocktails at 6:00 pm and dinner at 7:00 pm at a cost of $25.
