* Tuesday, March 24 Pangalos will speak at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. 8:30 - 10:00.

* The World Affairs Council of Washington, D.C. is sponsoring a panel discussion on Southern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean from Greek and U.S. Perspectives featuring Foreign Minister Pangalos, former U.S. Ambassador to NATO Robert Hunter and Brookings Institution Scholar Helmut Sonnenfeldt on Tuesday, March 24 at the ANA Hotel - Ballroom, 2401 M Street, D.C., from 6:45-8:00 p.m. Reception to follow. $12 for members- $15 for non-members. A reservation is needed for this event. Please call the World Affairs Council #(202)293-1051 for reservation form.

* On March 25, Ambassador and Mrs. Tsilas are hosting an open house Independence Day celebration reception at the Embassy from noon to 1:45 p.m.

* American Hellenic Institute in cooperation with AHEPA, HAWC, HANC are holding a "Congressional Salute to Greek Independence Day" Wednesday, March 25, 1998 Reception 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Rayburn House Office Building Rm. B-354

* Baltimore/Washington Annaul Greek Independence Day Parade on Sunday, March 29 at 2 p.m. in Baltimore's Greektown (Parade begins on Eastern Avenue at Haven Street and continues up Eastern Avenue in the heart of Greektown.)
