The World Hellenism Organization is actively involved in addressing Hellenic issues and making a difference. One of their current missions is to raise funds to help a local family that has had unusual share of medical problems, as explained below: Special Request To Help A Child With Cancer George Panagakis is 7 years old and has meduloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor. He has had brain surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy and he's still smiling. As you can image medical expenses have been incredibly high and much of it is not covered by insurance. The family is also in debt for previous care that their daughter Christina required in 1996 when she was just 2-1/2 months old. She had steneocrenosis which is a premature hardening of the skull. If not operated on in time, it would have caused damage to the brain and eye sight. The World Hellenism organization has initiated a fund raising campaign to help the Panagakis family. We of the Northern NJ YAL will also be assisting with this campaign. We will provide more information as plans are firmed up. In the mean time donations can be made directly to the following fund: Account #09047328
