National anniversaries should remind us of the great historic events
and our obligations as citizens, pointed out Greek President Kostis
Stephanopoulos speaking in the formal reception that was given by the
3rd Army Corps Command in Thessaloniki on the occasion of the October
28, 1940 anniversary, when Greece was attacked by fascist Italy and was
forced to enter WWII.
President Stephanopoulos referred extensively to the true patriots
saying that in times of peace they struggle for the country's
prosperity and progress, while he characterized as bad patriots those
who are responsible for delaying the country's progress.
