NEWS HEADLINES[A] NATIONAL NEWS[B] INTERNATIONAL NEWS[A] NATIONAL NEWSThe Irish President will meet with Prime Minister Kostas Simitis tomorrow. Arrest warrants are expected to be issued for five individuals on whom police has gathered enough evidence on their activities with the terrorist organization "17 November". Yesterday, Xiros was visited by his priest father, who met with him only for one minute and told him that his family is by his side. The police investigation continues and the first findings were taken yesterday afternoon to the anti-terrorist agency laboratories. The collection of fingerprints continues and as soon as the procedure is completed the ballistic examination will be launc hed to establish which of the guns and when they were used in terrorist actions. Meanwhile, according to police information, the DNA test done on Xiros has not been completed yet, while the same sources speculate that Xiros' fingerprints were matched with fingerprints found in a robbery at the Postal Office in Vironas, Athens in May 1997. The human bones and the cave-bear teeth found by an exploratory team were discovered 60 meters away from the spot where the bones of another cave-bear, that lived 300.000 years ago, were found 40 years ago. Of the stocks trading today, 106 recorded gains and 170 had losses, while the value of 97 stocks remained unchanged. The minister of press stated that unacceptable and miserable speculations are being made during the past few days, stressing that the arbitrary descriptions in essence photograph certain individuals very clearly. [B] INTERNATIONAL NEWSThe resolution 446 was approved by the Senate of Illinois in its 92nd General Assembly and was prepared by Assistant Majority Leader Adeline Jay Geo-Karis after moves by Dr. Antonios Papadopoulos, the Mid-Western District Governor of the Pan-Macedonian A ssociation. This important resolution has a follows: Whereas, Philip of Macedonia, his son, Alexander the Great, and his tutor, the philosopher Aristotle, were born and raised in the northern province of Greece, Macedonia; and Whereas, The language and culture of the ancient Macedonians, the ancestors of the inhabitants of northern Greece today, were Hellenic; and Whereas, The Macedonians, like the rest of the Hellenes in Antiquity, believed in the 12 Gods of Olympus and participated with their fellow Hellenes in the Olympic Games; and Whereas, Pella, the palace where Alexander the Great was born, and Vergina, the burial site of the Macedonian kings, are all located in Northern Greece; therefore, be it Resolved, by the Senate of the Ninety-Second General Assembly of the State of Illinois, that for all of the above reasons, we proclaim that the ancient Macedonians are Hellenes and that the inhabitants of the northern province of Greece, Macedonia, are t heir Hellenic Descendants; and be it further Resolved, That the history of Ancient Macedonia has been Hellenic for 3.000 years and continues to be today; and be it further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Antonios Papadopoulos, the Mid-Western District Governor of the Pan-Macedonian Association, Inc.
