[04] EX-AMBASSADOR'S REPORT SHEDS LIGHT ON EVENTS IN KENYA

    Web Posted: 17:41 GMT+2
Athens, 07/03/1999 (MPA) The report given by Greece's former ambassador to Kenya George Kostoulas to the state prosecutor, containing a day-by-day account of the events that transpired in Kenya up to the PKK leader's arrest, was published yesterday by an Athens daily (Ta Nea) even though it was to be classified.

According to the report, when Abdullah Ocalan ((code-named by the Greek Intelligence Service (EYP) as "Grandma")) refused to cooperate with Greek authorities, EYP ordered the ambassador and the EYP agent assigned to Mr. Ocalan that they throw him and his entourage out of the ambassador's residence.

Government spokesperson Dimitris Reppas said that the report is fragmented and misleading. On the other hand, the spokesman of the main opposition party New Democracy, said that the report constitutes "irrefutable evidence" that the government has disdain for the parliament and the democratic institutions.
