    [01] YUGOSLAVS CAN VISIT GREECE ONLY WITH A SCHENGEN VISA

    The citizens of Yugoslavia who wish to travel to Greece will be able to do so only with a Schengen visa, according to the Greek Consulate in Belgrade.

    Consulate officials stated that beginning tomorrow, December 15, Yugoslav citizens will be given access to Greece only through the Schengen Accord, which means that they will be able to travel to the other member states of the European Union.

    Those interested need to appear in person at the Consulate and fill out a visa application, while a response to their request is to be granted within a reasonable time period.

    [02] GREEK PREMIER FORESEES ESCALATION IN TURKISH PROVOCATION

    Greece's Prime Minister Kostas Simitis has stated that he foresees an escalation in Turkey's provocative behavior, following the decisions drawn by he Luxembourg-held EU Summit which essentially closed the door to Turkey while at the same time acceding Cyprus.

    Moreover, the Greek Premier expressed his satisfaction that the common statement issued by the Community's "15" includes the three conditions set forth by Greece for Turkey's participation in the European Conference.

    The President of Cyprus Glafkos Clerides publicly thanked the Greek Premier and the Greek government for the successful management of the Cyprus issue.

    [03] EU CHIEF: THE DECISIONS OF EUROPEAN COUNCIL WERE MONUMENTAL

    Luxembourg, December 14 (MPA)

    The President of the European Union and Prime Minister of Luxembourg Jean Claude Junker characterized the decisions drawn by the Council of Europe concerning the Community's expansion as "monumental and historic".

    Presenting the results of the two-day Summit, Mr. Junker stated that the main message conveyed was one of hope and peace. He added that all of the 11 applicant countries departed Luxembourg without feeling rejected by Europe.
