Greece's argument is that it has imposed extra taxes on older cars in order to dissuade buyers from purchasing them as this would further harm the environment and worsen air pollution. Greece is not about to turn into a "cemetery" of used cars, the state's under-Secretary of Finance George Drys has stated.
