    Politicians income declarations for 2008 were released. LAOS president George Kartzaferis appears to be the richest politician and GCP general secretary Aleca Papariga the poorest. Prime-minister George Papandreou has declared income from deputy compensation mounting to 126.205 euros and his wife 10.165 yearly income. They have not declared any change in their real estate property. ND president Antonis Samaras declared income from deputy compensation 106.982 euros and his wife 48.445 euros.

    Registered accountants reports and competent Parliament Committee inspections did not find any violations of 3213/2003 article on political parties' expenditures in the two elections. Fines for violation of the relevant article were imposed to seven candidates for deputies.

    The president of the Parliament Inspection Committee and 3rd deputy speaker , Baggelis Argiros said income and property declarations were submitted by a total of 562 people involved in politics, of them 300 Greek Parliament deputies, 22 European parliament deputies, 189 former deputies, 6 ministers outside parliament, 13 former European parliament deputies, 16 persons in charge of political parties' finances, 14 persons who were in charge of political parties' finances and two former ministers who were not members of Parliament.
