A draft-bill on the settlement of debt-ridden households was tabled to
the Parliament on Wednesday. The draft-bill provides for the settlement
of debts of people who are proven unable to to pay their debts. They
can come to an agreement to pay part of their debt for four years and
if their meet their agreement they could be relieved of the rest of
their debt. An announcement of the Economics, Competitiveness and
Merchant Marine Ministry says that the government has materialized one
of its most important pre-election commitments giving a second
opportunity to debt-ridden households. The announcement adds " during
these crucial circumstances the State has an even higher obligation to
support weak groups of people and ensure humane living conditions, and
assist in their readoption and participation in economic and social
activities. The new draft-bill fully responds to this duty"
