A crucial week for Greece's economy starts on Monday with developments expected in both the Stability and Growth Program as well as reforms in taxation system considered to be the key in the course of fiscal adoption. On Wednesday, the EU College of Commissioners is expected to announce its recommendations on Greece's Stability Program while the Finance Ministry will have released draft-bill on taxation, providing radical reforms in income and property tax, till the end of the week.

New draft-bill on taxation, among others provides for a single progressive taxation scale for all incomes whatever their origin, abolition of tax reliefs of individual and corporation profits, reintroduction of large property tax and objective criteria for taxpayers whose income declaration does not justify their life style. Specifically new taxation scale will provide for tax relief for incomes below 30.000 and rise for incomes above 50.000. Collection of receipts measure, particularly from free lance professionals will be linked to tax free income. In the meantime, draft-bill on over-borrowed households will be tabled to the Parliament this week.
