It, however, stresses that all cases would not need hospitalization as many would have light symptoms. Britain will be the first country in Europe to receive vaccines and the government appeals for calm. French scientists also underline that there is no reason for panic and all measures are taken to protect people in the event the virus becomes more aggressive in the future. Among the first countries in Europe to be supplied with the new vaccine are Greece, Britain, Sweden and France. Britain which has recorded the most deaths from the flu, will receive 132 million vaccines next month. The big question is how safe is the new vaccine. Several scientists, among them a distinguished French scientist describes new flu A⦠as a common Y⦠flu. Russia has included Britain in the black list and has issued a ban on students trips to Britain as it was worst hit by the flu with 100.000 new cases recorded in a week and 30 people dead of the flu. Israel has reconfirmed the first death of a 35yo man from H1N1 while Kosovo has identified the first H1N1 case. The WHO in a report released today says that 816 people have died of the new flu worldwide with 707 deaths recorded in south and north America the worst hit regions in the world. The number of deaths in Asia and the Pacific is 74 and in Europe 34. The WHO report says that no case has been recorded in Africa. The total number of H1N1 identified cases reach 134,503, WHO, however, says that the number of cases is much higher as it is impossible to identify all cases in countries which are worst hit by the new flu. Sources: ÁNA- ÌPA-ÍÅÔ News item: 25231 [02] Subsidies to Farmers-Peach Producers Lifted Road BlockadesNewsLast Updated on Monday, 27 July 2009 15:49 Following a decision of Rural Development Minister Sotiris Hatzigakis the sum of 23.410.332 euros will be allocated to subsidize 15.199 producers in 42 prefectures nationwide for damage to crops mounting to 16.365.647. Eligible producers will see the amount of subsidy deposited in Agricultural Bank accounts on Tuesday and Wednesday. In the meantime, 3.109 farmers in 30 prefectures will receive state subsidy for the fires in 2007 mounting to 7.044.685, on July 29, 2009 within the framework of Political Planning for Emergency needs. Peach producers from the prefecture of Pella removed their tractors putting an end to 11 day road blockades. Peach producers decided lifting road blockades during a meeting last night during which their representatives evaluated the Rural Development Ministers clarifications regarding means to record and subsidize peach producers for surplus production. Peach producers suspended mobilizations but are awaiting further clarifications on several other issues while they are to set up a committee to have a new meeting with Rural Development Minister. The GCP general secretary Aleka Papariga met with peach producers from the prefectures of Pella and Himathia.
