The 33-year-old male, the first serious H1N1 infection to be reported
in Greece, has slightly improved. He remains feverless, yet the damage
in his lung is serious. In the meantime, experts worldwide are battling
against time to produce the vaccine by autumn. In Greece, sensitive
population groups will be the first in line to be vaccinated.
At the beginning of the week, about 520 H1N1 infections had been
confirmed in Greece, with nearly 35 to 40 cases being confirmed every
day. The number of the infections is steady and it appears that there
is no surge at the moment. However, the World Health Organization
stressed that the H1N1 flu will not make any exemptions and it will
spread everywhere on the planet.
