Battling for a place in tertiary education, high school seniors were
tested Wednesday in the subjects of Latin and Chemistry. Both the

[02] Massacre in Lahore
News
At least 40 people were killed and more than a hundred were injured in
a huge blast that rocked Wednesday the Pakistani city of Lahore, local
media said. The blast targeted the police headquarters on Mall Road,
Lahore's key road artery. Several police officers have been listed
among the wounded, while an unidentified number of people are feared to
have been trapped in the rubble.
The blast caused extensive damage in nearby buildings and vehicles. The
local media said gunshots were heard, however, it remains to be seen
whether it was just panicked reaction of the policemen or a gun battle
with the attackers. No group has claimed responsibility so far.
