[01] Obama-Medvedev Meeting
US President-elect Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev
agreed to hold a meeting the first chance they get said Russian Foreign
Minister Sergei Lavrov. But the meeting will definitely take place
after Obama officially assumes office, namely after January 2009.
It is very likely, Lavrov stressed, that the two leaders may make the
best of the G20 Summit in Washington on 15 November and have their
first meeting. Terming the new USA as open-minded, top-ranking Democrat
Valerie Jarrett and close aide to Obama said that Republicans could be
appointed to government posts, so that the change of guard at the White
House could be as smooth as possible.
