    04 Οκτ 2008 19:50:00

    Sources: ΝΕΤ

The government is to submit draftbill on 2009 state budget to the Parliament on Monday. It is not expected to include new taxation measures except for those already announced while the governments commitments to support low income groups, combat tax evasion, cut down state expenditures, keep deficit under 3% and growth at high pace are the challenges the government must meet with 2009 budget. Salary rises will not be above inflation rate which is interpreted to another year of strict budget on income policy. It is expected that the largest part of 2009 revenues will come from from recent taxation measures which will inflow about 4.5 billion euros to state funds. According to Foreign Ministry staff the above sum will be raised from additional taxes mounting to 600 million due to broadening of taxation base, closing of pending cases from 2000-2006,estimated to bring 1 billion euros, regulation on expired debts to bring about 1 billion euros, taxation of dividend of shares(250 million) and additional taxes to be paid by companies through increase of advance tax payment from 65% to 80%.
