This year's exodus from urban centres has been described the biggest of the recent years. City dwellers will celebrate the Assumption of Virgin Mary in the province. Meanwhile, the police will be on alert until 24 August, when most city dwellers are expected to return home. The port authorities have also taken extra measures in ports, which are expected to be very busy.

Extraordinary measures will be taken on highways, ports, in urban centres and places, where the celebration of the Assumption of Virgin Mary is taking place.

Trucks will not circulate in the national highways on 17 August from 16:00-22:00.

Poland agreed today to host elements of U.S. global anti-missile system on its territory, a fact that will increase tension between Russia and the West. The preliminary deal was signed by deputy Polish Foreign Minister Andrzej Kremer and U.S. chief negotiator John Rood. It still needs to be endorsed by the Polish parliament. "We reached an agreement with the US on the missile shield" said Polands Prime Minister Donald Tusk in an interview with TVN television channel. According to the deal the US can install 10 interceptor rockets at a base in Poland. If everything goes to schedule, the interceptor base would be ready by around 2012, officials have said. This system is linked to the radar expected to be installed in the Czech Republic.
