    Skopje Sends New Letters

    FYROM Prime Minister Mr. Gruevski keeps sending letters regarding "the protection of rights of the Macedonian minority in Greece and the rights of Slav-Macedonian, political refugees during the civil war in Greece. According to Skopje Media, Mr. Gruevski sent new letters in NATO, OASE, country-members of the Security Council of UN, the European Council, country-members of G-8. These letters have similar content with those sent days before by Mr. Gruevski to the president of the European Committee Jos&#233; Manuel Barrosso and to UN General Secretary Ban Ki Moon.

    FYROM Prime Minister had a meeting on Tuesday with representatives of Slav-Macedonian political refugees offspring who briefed him on "their initiatives and activities regarding the regain of their property in Greece".

    FYROM government promised them legal support for the claim of the rights, Mr. Guevski said after the meeting.

    Representative of ministry of foreign affairs ministry Mr. Giorgos Koumoutsakos commented on the initiatives of the neighboring countrys leadership, saying that Skopje has an effusion to constantly send letters.

    G. Papandreou: "Deadlocks Ahead"

    PASOK political councils meeting was completed earlier today. We are ahead of a big social explosion, deadlocks ND created that can lead to pre mature developments that we are ready for, PASOK president said. The Council assessed the current political situation, discussed organizational issues and PASOK actions, instability in the political climate, the initiatives to be taken at the sight of Thessalonikis International Exhibition and the Euro elections, Mr. Papakostantinou said. Issues young people face was also included in the agenda. In his initiation, PASOK president Mr. Papandreou stressed that New Democracy has created many deadlocks which can lead to developments, implying pre mature elections. As Mr. Papandreou said, the government violates institutions, principles and rules. While PASOK is coming out from a crisis, New Democracy is entering its own deep crisis. On reference to Euro elections, he underlined that PASOK claims victory and in order to achieve its goals the opposition party has to work hard. Regarding the crisis in society, PASOK representative said that latest evidence, consumers buying dynamic and his insecurity are dramatic. Financial slump, Mr. Papakostantinou added is not related to the international crisis and called the government to present its strategies regarding conditions of crisis. In addition, he concluded that the budget is out of control and a new surveillance is ahead of us due to the deadlocks created by the governmental policies.

    [03] Tsipras' Meeting with OSE Employees

    SYN president Mr. Tsipras had a meeting with the presidency of the Federation of Hellenic Railway Station. In his announcements, Mr. Tsipras stressed that "the latest governments disqualified OSE, hired administrative members that rose costs and damages. What is annoying is that according to Mr. Karamanlis OSE employees will pay the price. He also added that consultants, presidents of affiliated companies who are far beyond real limits, want to shrink working rights and gains of decades. On his side the president of the Hellenic Railways Mr. Giorgos Tsalikakis stressed that Mr. Alogoskoufis adjustment for DECO is a coup d itat regarding the time it is taking place and is also anti institutional. "We will join forces with other DECO starting with GSEE and we will fight against this adjustment", he concluded.

    3 Fire Fronts in Peloponnese

    The fire that broke out in Makri of Tripolis is still in progress. Ground and firefighting forces are trying to put it out while traffic in the national highway of Tripolis-Kalamata that was stopped due to thick smokes has been restored. Two more fire fronts are in progress in the Peloponnese region, the first one on Fournous of Kranidi and the other one in Elafonysos of Lakonia. Fire fighting planes are now trying to put it under control. The fires are now burning forestalls areas but fortunately no residencies are threatened. What must be stressed is that another fire broke out in Keratea. Firemen and 13 firefighting vehicles as well as a helicopter are fighting with flames. Meantime, according to the Firefighting Services briefing, the thick smoke that covered Attika in the morning was caused due to the fire that broke out in our neighboring country.
