The fire that broke out in Kalamos in the afternoon is abating, while the Fire Brigade is trying to extinguish the fire completely. As per the Fire Brigade, a house sustained damages, while the flames reached the courts of some houses and are heading to the beach. The firemens work is being hampered by the winds which are changing direction. The Traffic Police has blocked the surrounding roads, while 78 firemen with 26 fire engines, as well as six fire-fighting planes, three helicopters and fifteen water-trucks are fighting the fires. About 120 soldiers are to spend the night in the area for precautionary reasons.

Meanwhile, another fire broke out at Attiko Alsos in Tourkovounia a little before 20:00. Fire engines and fire-fighting planes are trying to extinguish the fire.

Finally, the General Secretariat of Political Protection has issued a warning for a high risk of fires in Eastern Attica, Evia, Chania, Heraklion, Lasithi, Lesvos, Chios, Samos and Ikaria.
