    Tension prevails in universities with students continuing mobilizations. University students staged a rally at Propilaia at noon today and next marched to the Parliament. Demonstrators denounced the violent incidents at higher education institutions in the past days sparked by university deans elections. Alternate government spokesman called on the majority of students not to be influenced by small groups that object to electoral procedures.

    Pensioners staged a march demonstration to the Maximos Mansion today in protest against expensiveness and demanding among others 1.200 euros lowest pension, abolition of VAT in basic products and improvement in health care. Their representative handed a resolution with their requests to the director of the Prime-ministers political office, Yiannis Aggelou. Basilis Sofias Av. remained closed.

    In the meantime, pensioners of the state sector will receive the 5% increase in Junes pay as well as back pay as of January, 1, 2008.
