In an interview in the Sunday Ethnos newspaper, Greek Communist Party
general secretary, Aleka Papariga characterized the change in
leadership in the Pasok party an attempt to depredate votes and
maintained the succession took place because foreign and local economic
and political sources were concerned over a possible electoral defeat
of the Pasok party.
