    A sunny day is forecast in most parts of the country, with cloud building up in the centre and north from early evening, which may lead to isolated showers or storms. The temperature in Athens will range from 24 to 36C, in the islands from 22 to 33C and in Thessaloniki from 22 to 32C.

    [02] Part time employment to be vote for at Parliament

    The bill regarding part time employment will be voted for at Parliament today, following New Democracy party's request for a nominal voting. The session at Parliament was interrupted yesterday due to lack of a quorum.

    The reason was that friction rose between the government and the New Democracy party, following an amendment introduced by Interior Deputy Minister Nikos Bistis according to which the unemployed, who had been fired in mass, will have a priority in covering part time positions in the Civil Service.

    [03] Tension between Patriarchate and Church of Greece

    Foreign Minister George Papandreou intervened in the tension that rose between the Patriarchate and the Church of Greece regarding the position of the Thessaloniki Metropolitan throne.

    Mr Papandreou stated that the state respects the self-governing of both institutions, following his meeting with Archbishop Christodoulos and advised dialogue and sobriety.

    Phanari, which has the jurisdiction for the so-called new countries since 1928, asks to be briefed on Archimandrites who will stand election and demands that the synodical rules be observed.

    The Archaeological Museum of Mycenae will commence operating as of tomorrow after having remained closed for five years.
