    Fine weather is forecast in all parts of the country, with northerly, light to moderate winds. The temperature in Athens will range from 22 to 34C and in Thessaloniki from 19 to 31C.

    [02] Earthquake hits Evia

    An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale took place in Aliveri, Evia at 02:15 today and was felt in northeastern Attica suburbs.

    [03] Electoral law changes to be announced after next Thursday

    The proposals regarding changes in the electoral law will be announced after the government committee's meeting next Thursday.

    In an interview with NET 105.8, Press Deputy Minister Tilemachos Chitiris spoke of a more representative electoral system so that democracy and civilians would have greater power, reiterating that if the new system were put into practice then it would be applied in 2008 elections.

    New Democracy MP Marietta Gianakou told our station that the ND party would take part in the dialogue, adding that that did not mean, 'We would accept what is proposed by the government'.

    From his side, DIKKI party leader Dimitris Tsovolas said that if asked, he would participate in the reform of the electoral system.

    [04] Denktash's proposal viewed with reserve by Cypriot government

    The Cypriot government is examining Turkish Cypriot representative Rauf Denktash's proposal for the return of Greek Cypriots to Famagusta in return for the opening of the international Nicosia airport with reservation.

    The Cypriot Foreign Minister George Iakovou implied that the Cypriot government would not support discussions for the building of confidence measures, as proposed by Mr Denktash.
