Additionally, after 2008, DEI and private individuals will be able to participate equally and with no restrictions in bids for the supply of electric power.(11/7/2003 11:58:00 נל) [04] Shipowners demand abolishment of interventionismThe Shipowners Association has asked for the substantial release of coastal trade from any kind of interventionism.Besides, the Panhellenic Nautical Federation will obstruct the departure of passenger ship 'Nisos Limnos' from Lavrio port and stage a strike at all ports. The Shipowners Association President Stelios Sarris asked for the total deregulation of sea freights, adding that this should take place as of 1/1/2004, demanding thus the amendment of Mr Papoutsis' law. Shipowners are blaming the government and the ex- Mercantile Marine Minister George Anomeritis for not keeping their promises regarding the pay of discounts by the Mercantlie Marine Ministry for port employees and the Ministry of National Defence for militaries. Until now no decision has been taken for shipowners so as they receive the money owed to them. Additionally, shipowners stated that they demand the amendment of the relative decree, so as the structure of crews depend on the technical characteristics of ships. (11/7/2003 12:02:00 לל) [05] Rises in pensions and Civil Servants' salariesAccording to the civil servants' new scale of payments that will be put into effect from 1/1/2004, a 4 to 6% rise will be introduced to salaries and 4 to 5% to pensions.
