The temperature in Athens will range from 22 to 32C and in Thessaloniki from 21 to 30C.(22/6/2003 11:59:00 נל) [02] EU Summit successful claim most EU leadersTens of thousands of people from Greece and abroad demonstrated in Thessaloniki yesterday against war, poverty, unemployment and policies adopted by European Union leaders.Incidents were reported at the centre of Thessaloniki yesterday when groups of anarchists clashed and caused damages to shops, banks and police vehicles. At least 15 demonstrators were injured during the clashes. Meanwhile, the Minister of Macedonia and Thrace George Pashalides said yesterday that the government would see that the damages are restored. At the same time, Synaspismos party leader Nikos Konstantopoulos accused police leadership of not being able to protect t the grand demonstration of European citizens in Thessaloniki. From their side, however, most European Union leaders appear satisfied from the results of the Summit Meeting in Chalkidiki. In an interview with NET 105.8 yesterday, Foreign Minister George Papandreou stressed that the success of the Greek EU Presidency is due to the fact that it managed to create a strategic dogma that will be adopted at the end of the Italian EU Presidency and thus with the new European Constitution it will have for the first time an integrated framework of philosophy, principles and targets. On the occasion of the approval of the draft of constitutional treaty at the EU Summit Meeting, the President of the Hellenic Republic Costis Stephanopoulos said that a 'big homeland had been born'. (22/6/2003 12:01:00 לל) [03] Financial aid decided for western Balkan countriesDuring yesterday's meeting between the European Union and western Balkan countries, it was agreed that an additional Community financial aid of 210 billion euros be given to these countries by 2007, so that their viable development and accession is achieved in the long run.Besides, under the Greek EU Presidency's initiative, it was announced that a dialogue would begin between Belgrade and Albanian nationals living in Pristina and Kossovo. (22/6/2003 12:02:00 לל) [04] Turkish policy unreliable says Cypriot government spokesmanReferring to the Titika Loizidou case and the Turkish Foreign minister's statements according to which Cypriots who are demanding compensations should take recourse courts of the occupied part of Cyprus, the Cypriot government spokesman commented that the Turkish policy has been proven once more to be unreliable.
