    Unsettled weather is forecast with rain and storms in most parts of the country.Temperatures in Athens will range between 11C and 18C and in Thessaloniki between 9C and 16C.

    [02] Prime-minister Simitis concluded tour of Scandinavian capitals

    Prime-minister and President of the European Council, Kostas Simitis returned to Athens from Copenhagen last night, concluding his official visits to Scandinavian countries in view of the EU summit in Athens in June.

    [03] Greek and Turkish Cypriots cross the Green line

    Over 2800 Turkish-Cypriots and about 1700 Greek Cypriots by midnight yesterday crossed the green line between the north and south in the divided capital Nicosia to visit homes and other sites off limits to them since 1974

    Turkish-Cypriot leader Raulf Dektash on Tuesday authorised opening checkpoints on the line for day trips. Greek-Cypriot officials suspect the easing of crossings is a Turkish Cypriot ploy to gain wider recognition and avoid a full settlement.

    [04] Greece to EU court for illegal state subsidy to Airways Company

    Greek Transport and Communications Minister Christos Verelis yesterday said that the EU Commission s decision to refer Greece to the EU Court of Justice for failing to claim the sum of 41 million euros from the Olympic Airways Company - a sum EU Commission believe to be an illegal state subsidy to the national carrier - was an expected move.

    Verelis stressed that the Greek side has strong legal arguments in the case and described the issue as of a clearly legal nature, while he announced the speeding-up of procedures for the creation of a New Olympic Airways to serve domestic air transport.
