Temperatures in Athens between 13C and 17C; and in Thessaloniki from 11C to 14C.(28/11/2002 10:44:00 рм) [02] Papandreou accuses Denktash of deliberate delaysForeign Minister George Papandreou, who met with his American counterpart Colin Powell in Washington yesterday, accused the Turkish-Cypriot representative of intentional delays in and interview with the CNN.Mr Papandreou also said that Greece wished the Cyprus issue be solved before December 12, adding however that if this was not possible, then efforts for the solution of the Cyprus issue should continue and Turkey should continue its European course, which is important for Greece, Cyprus and the European Union. Meanwhile, Mr Papandreou and his American counterpart stressed that need for the acceleration process for the solution of the Cyprus issue. At the same time, United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan expects the President of the Cyprus Republic Glafkos Klerides and the Turkish Cypriot representative Rauf Denktash to inform him which parts of his plan need to be negotiated. On a relative development, in a letter sent to Mr Annan, Mr Denktash appears ready to negotiate on the Annan plan, however under conditions. At the same time, in an interview with the Turkish TV network NTV he stressed that many things should be modified so as Mr Annan's plan be accepted. From his side, Mr Papandreou described Mr Denktash's statement as a request for pre-negotiations before the negotiations. Prime Minister Costas Simitis is expected to refer on the developments of the Cyprus issue today at the sessions of the meeting between the PASOK Central Committee and the PASOK Parliamentary Group. Finally, the New Democracy party President Costas Karamanlis reiterated from Brussels that what is most important is that Cyprus be acceded to the European Union. (28/11/2002 10:45:00 рм) [03] ND party describes the new budget as insincereFinance Minister Nikos Christodoulakis described the 2003 state budget sufficient and credible at Parliament, accusing at the same time the New Democracy party of acting politics with a bad direction and scenario that aims to undermine the economy.Referring to the report of the Control Committee for the 2001 budget, the Finance Minister spoke of big mistakes, describing those who prepared it ignorant. From his side, New Democracy party MP Panos Panayiotopoulos described the budget insincere and unreliable. (28/11/2002 10:48:00 рм) [04] Olympic Games ticketsThe price of tickets for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games will be cheaper than initially estimated. The Athens 2004 Organising Committee (ATHOC) announced on Wednesday that tickets for the events will range between 10 to 300 euros, while for the opening ceremony from 100 to 950 euros and for the closing ceremony from 50 to 750 euros. A total of 5,300,000 tickets will be issued, of which 2,300,000 will be given to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).The tickets will start being sold to the general public from May 12, 2003 (simultaneously in all the countries of the world). Those interested can order the tickets through the ATHOC website or at all the branches of Alpha Bank. It is noteworthy to point out that the average price of tickets for the Athens 2004 Games are 34 per cent cheaper than the corresponding average price of the Games in Sydney. Of the total 5,300,000 tickets which will be issued, 3,600,000 (68% of the total) will cost up to 30 euros, 2,900,000 (55%) up to 20 euros and 2,000,000 (38%) will cost 10 to 15 euros.
