[01] Oil prices continue their upward course

Unrest continues in the international markets due to the soaring fuel prices. The price of crude scored a new record in New York, reaching $37.28 per barrel. In tandem, the International Energy Service estimates that oil prices will remain high for at least 6 months.

According to information from New York, the President of the Cyprus Republic Glafkos Klerides addressed a letter to the President of the Security Council drawing his attention on Mr. Cem's statements.

In his letter he states that Turkey's stand for a solution of the Cyprus issue based on the creation of a confederation does not coincide with the United Nations resolutions regarding the resolution of the Cyprus problem.

[03] Human Rights European Court examines Cyprus' recourse

Turkish Foreign minister Ismail Cem had a meeting with the Community high commissioner responsible for the European Union expansion Gynder Ferhoygen, during which they discussed the content of Turkey's association relation with the European Union.
