A fire broke out late on Friday evening in an empty, abandoned home at
92 Ermou Street in Monastiraki, near Athens' historic Plaka district
and flea market.
Talking to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA), a fire brigade
spokesperson said there were no reports of individuals trapped inside.
A force of 25 fire men and 10 fire engines was deployed to put out the
blaze, which was reported to be under control shortly before 21:50.
