  • [01] Government and institutions seek to reach a compromise at the Eurogroup

Greece and the creditors will meet on Monday in an effort to find a solution to pending issues. If they manage to reach a mutual compromise, they will pave the way for the conclusion of the second programme review as soon as possible.

Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos is expected to meet with the heads of the institutions before Monday's Eurogroup meeting. The Greek side hopes for a positive statement of the progress made that will give the green light for the institutions' return to Athens. The next target is a staff level agreement at the Eurogroup to be held in Malta on April 7.

It seems that convergence has been achieved on the extrajudicial settlement mechanism, the 2018 fiscal figures and the new deregulation fund.

Disagreements remain on labour issues (mass layoffs, collective agreement), the tax free threshold, relief measures, pension and energy issues.

[02] PM Tsipras to meet Greek Tourism Confederation

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will meet with members of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) on Monday.

The meeting will take place at the Maximos Mansion, at 12.00.

[03] ND leader Mitsotakis to meet former party leader Meimarakis on Monday

Main opposition New Democracy (ND) leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis will meet with former party leader Evangelos Meimarakis on Monday.

The meeting will take place at 12.30, at his office in Parliament.

[04] EU Parliament VP Papadimoulis congratulates Schulz for his election as SPD leader

European Parliament Vice President Dimitris Papadimoulis on Monday congratulated former European Parliament President Martin Schulz for his election as the leader of Germany's Social Democrats (SPD) party.

The election of Schulz will have a positive impact on the course of Greece and the European Union, Papadimoulis posted on Twitter.

"Congratulations to Martin Schulz. A progressive turn of Germany will have a positive impact on the European Union and Greece's course," he said.
