    We received a suffocated health sector and we achieved a small miracle, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Friday said during the Hour of the Prime Minister in Parliament.

    Despite the suffocating fiscal framework, we managed to integrate 2.5 million people without social security to the public health sector, the prime minister underlined and promised that 3.0 million people will have access to primary healthcare by the end of the year.

    As he said, the government received bankrupt hospitals and ensured their economic viability, without expenditure cuts.

    During the crisis, the public health suffered a cruel attack {...}, however, the funds for the health sector have increased for the first time, he underlined.

    Tsipras replied to a question submitted by the leader of the Centrists Union Vassilis Leventis.

    Moreover, the premier announced the establishment of an examining committee on the scandals revealed in the health sector.

    [02] Deputy FM Amanatidis stresses importance of fair and sustainable development

    Deputy Foreign Minister Yiannis Amanatidis on Friday stressed the importance that the government is giving to the fair and and sustainable development at an event entitled "17 Targets of UN Sustainable Development" organized by the Centre of International Organizations and Globalization.

    "The government's effort has focused on a fair and sustainable development as a lever of restoring the forces of the country which have been deeply hit by the extended recession and the imposition of harsh austerity measures," Amanatidis said adding that apart from our participation in the global effort to achieve the Sustainability Goals for Greece equitable and sustainable development has been the prime miniter's priority for a long time.

    Amanatidis said that the 17 Goals for Sustainable Development - poverty, gender equality, health, education, good governance, migration, climate change, protection of the environment - are ecumenical.

    [03] Arrival of 52 Syrian refugees interrupts long period of zero arrivals on Lesvos island

    The arrival of 52 refugees from Syria early Friday interrupted a long period (15 days) of zero arrivals on the island of Lesvos.

    In the last 24 hours, 60 persons arrived on Chios and 14 on Samos.

    According to the police, 8,399 migrants and refugees that have sought for asylum and their request has been not examined yet remained stranded on the three islands' hosting facilities.
