[01] Negotiations with Greek gov't on the second review continuing,
says EC spokeswoman Breidthardt
BRUSSELS (ANA/Ch. Vassilaki) - Talks between the Greek government and
the institutions in the framework of the second review of the Greek
programme are continuing, European Commission spokeswoman Annika
Breidthardt stated on Monday.
The institutions' missions have returned to their headquarters and the
follow-up meetings to this mission, ahead of the March 20 Eurogroup,
are taking place "both in Athens and through headquarters," Breidthardt
said during a press briefing in Brussels.
"The aim is to rapidly conclude a staff-level agreement," she said,
while the Commission was working toward the March 20 "and all Eurogroups."
[02] President Pavlopoulos congratulates Donald Tusk on his re-election
President of Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos on Monday spoke on the phone
with European Council President Donald Tusk, congratulating him on
his re-election. At the same time, Pavlopoulos pointed out the major
challenges that put the unity, cohesion, and the prospects of the EU
and the inner core of the Eurozone at risk.
Moreover, the Greek President reassured Tusk that he will have Greece's
unequivocal support in his effort to defend the principles and values
that safeguard the unity, cohesion and the prospects of the European
edifice. He also invited the European Council president to visit Greece,
an invitation that Tusk accepted with pleasure.
