  • [01] Elections will be held in 2019, EP Vice President Papadimoulis says

It is unreasonable to ask for new measures after the end of the current programme in order for the second review to be concluded, the vice president of the European Parliament and SYRIZA MEP Dimitris Papadimoulis on Monday said in statements to Praktoreio 104.9 FM and ruled out the possibility of new measures. He underlined that the review will be concluded as the majority of creditors understands that this is in everyone's interest.

Asked on the creditors' pressures, Papadimoulis said that there are difficulties but they can be bridged, adding that 77 out of 80 prior actions have already been met.

Moreover, he stressed that elections will be held in 2019.
