[01] Debate on 2017 budget to be concluded with a roll call vote at
midnight
The five-day debate on the 2017 budget resumed on Saturday at the
parliament's plenum. It will be concluded with a roll call vote at
midnight.
Meanwhile, Justice Minister Stavros Kontonis announced the appointment of
1,347 officials in the justice sector and the creation of justice police.
[02] Pensions to rise now that the economy is recovering, Katrougalos
tells ANA
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras' recent statements prove the government's
determination to protect the weakest persons, Alternate Foreign
Minister Giorgos Katrougalos on Saturday said in an interview with the
Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA).
He also said that the government will not accept pressures that are not
justified and that will harm the Greek economy.
Katrougalos, former Labour Minister, added that now that the economy is
recovering, the pensions will start to be increasing. He also expressed
his content over Tsipras' recent measures to help low pensioners.
