  • [01] Dijsselbloem says agreement possible before next Eurogroup meeting

    BRUSSELS(ANA/M. Spinthourakis) - Eurogroup president Jeroen Dijsselbloem on Tuesday expressed the hope that a comprehensive agreement with Greece on the second programme review can be achieved by the next Eurogroup meeting on December 5.

    Dijsselbloem underlined that Greece has made impressive progress and expressed the hope that all the necessary short-term, medium-term and long-term measures will be taken to ensure the sustainability of the Greek debt.

    He also said that Greece needs to proceed with the necessary structural reforms adding that the eurozone members should meet their commitments for a debt relief.

    Moreover, the Eurogroup chief said that the aim is for the IMF to continue participating in the Greek programme.

    [02] Alexis Tsipras in Havana

    "It is a great honour to be here in Cuba, covering thousands of kilometers, to pay tribute to a great leader who inspired not only the Cuban people and the peoples of Latin America, but also the revolutionary flame across the globe," Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Tuesday.

    Tsipras arrived at Havana earlier in the day to attend a series of events in honour of Fidel Castro.

    "The people, no matter how far they are, come together on shared values and common aims. And the value of social justice, social liberation is what unites people," said the prime minister.

    [03] ND leader Mitsotakis to hold series of meetings in Serbia

    Main opposition New Democracy (ND) leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis is visiting Serbia where he will hold meetings with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, the partriarch of Serbia Irineos and with Prime Minister Alexander Vucic.

    The talks will focus on the developments in the region and the political and economic relations between the two countries.

    On Tuesday evening, Mitsotakis will attend a dinner hosted by government's vice president and foreign minister Ivica Dacic.

    Mitsotakis will also meet with Greek entrepreneurs.

    [04] Alexis Tsipras in Havana

    Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday arrived in Havana, Cuba, to attend a series of events in honour of Fidel Castro.

    The main event, to be attended by global leaders, will be held at 7 pm at the Plaza de la Revolucion.

    The prime minister will be back in Athens on Thursday morning.
