[01] Second programme review will soon be concluded, Alternate Economy
Min Charitsis tells ANA
The second programme review will soon be concluded and will boost the
Greek economy, Alternate Economy Minister Alexis Charitsis on Wednesday
said in statements to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency's radio station
Praktoreio 104,9 FM.
Asked on the imminent mini-summit in Berlin and the participation of
the IMF, he underlined that it is part of the meetings on EU affairs,
including Italy's banking system and Brexit.
Moreover, he said that the scenario over the Greek economy is realistic
adding that the government aims for all positive economic indices to be
reflected in everyday life. "For the first time in many years a large part
of the surplus go to social actions, increasing part of public investment
in order to strengthen local infrastructure with additional resources,"
he reiterated.

"Statements questioning the Lausanne Treaty are unacceptable," Foreign
Ministry spokesperson Stratos Efthymiou said in reply to a journalist's
question regarding the statements of the Turkish leadership on the
Treaty of Lausanne.
Efthymiou underlined that "in the revisionism expressed repeatedly by
the Turkish leadership, Greece responds with its commitment to ensure
international legitimacy, peace and stability."

Elefsina is an excellent example on how your can deal with the modern
challenges in practice, stated Culture Minister Lydia Koniordou on
Elefsina's declaration 2021 European Capital of Culture.
As she said to public broadcaster ERT on Wednesday "from a downgraded
area, Elefsina became a town-model, a bright model. It turned old
factories into cultural venues and in parallel acquired a green profile"
adding the need to support the multicultural diversity as promoted by
UNESCO stating that she is totally against "monoculture".
