[01] Tsipras and Erdogan discuss Cyprus, refugees in phone call
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras spoke with Turkish President Recep
Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday on the Cyprus issue and the EU-Turkey deal
on refugees, his office said.
The two leaders discussed in a phone call developments in Cyprus talks
and the procedure followed and agreed to talk in the next few days,
if necessary. On the refugee issue, Tsipras said the EU-Turkey deal is
necessary, adding he supports Ankara's request "to receive from the EU
what the country is entitled."
[02] 4.7-magnitude earthquake near Kilkis felt in Thessaloniki, Pella
A 4.7-magnitude tremor that shook the area northwest of Thessaloniki,
near Kilkis, in the early morning was at a focal depth of 10 km and this
is why it was felt in Thessaloniki, Pella and other surrounding region,
a geophysics professor told Athens-Macedonian News Agency on Saturday.
The quake hit at 01:22 local time according to the Seismological Station
(ANA) at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
It is a region where an earthquake sequence has been developing since
November 10, but is not known to have large faults, Geophysics professor
Kostas Papazahos said.
